松峰の黄銅鉱・水晶 Chalcopyrite & Quartz from Matsumine

林立する水晶のあいだに黄銅鉱がくっつく。水晶に多少破損した部分があるのが残念だが、結晶の成長の勢いみたいなものがそれを補って余りある感じがする。黄鉄鉱も何粒かまぎれている。松峰鉱山は、花岡鉱山の支山として1960年代から開発され、黒鉱を産出した。鉱山というと、山深い辺鄙なところにあると思いがちだが、この鉱山はふつうの田園地帯の中にあり、地下 200〜300 m の鉱床まで坑道が伸びている。推定埋蔵量 3000 万トンの鉱体はまだすべて掘り尽くされていないというが、採算が合わず1994年に閉山した。
Chalcopyrite crystallizes in a forest of rock crystals. The quartz is severely damaged in part. Matsumine was developed in 1960s and produced Kuroko (black ore). This mine was located in a flat countryside (see the map below). 30 million tons of Kuroko has been identified at depths of 200-300 m but it was closed in 1994 although all of the ores had not been mined.
