猪口と鉱物あつめ

口径 top width: 50 mm / 高さ height: 53 mm / 高台径 bottom width: 41 mm 遠景と近景の異なる風景を２面に割り付けている。遠景の図はまるで水墨画のようだ。薄ダミで白く抜かれた部分が雪にみえる。こんな小さな器に、これだけの絵付けをいとも簡単にやってのける有田の職人の技術は驚嘆に値する。多少の釉ハゲや高台のホツはあったが、ひさしぶりにちょっとヤバいのぞき猪口に出会った。 Two different views are drawn with cobalt-blue gosu on two opposite faces. The distant view of mountain and river resembles a Chinese ink painting. The white part looks like snow. It is amazing of Arita's craftsman to make an artistic drawing on this small cup. There were slight flaws, but I am happy to meet such a nice nozoki -type cup. 反対側。こちらは濃いダミで川べりの近景を描く。ダミの濃淡が視点の遠近と対応している。雪の日にこれで一杯やったら最高だろう。　 The other side is a close-up view of plants near a river, drawn with a darker blue glaze. It will be a fun to drink sake with this cup on a snowy day. 縁の裏もダミで文様をつくっている。やや尻張形で、のぞき猪口としては古い様式を保っているとおもう。18世紀末頃か？　 The top inner side is also drawn with a blue glaze. I think the shape with a little wider bottom part still keeps an older style of nozoki cups

Aikawa, Sado City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan（新潟県佐渡市相川） Width: 55 mm / Weight: 54 g 先日、古道具屋で 明治時代の鉱物標本 を多数入手したが、これもそのうちのひとつ。佐渡・相川産の金銀鉱石と断定してよいとおもう。 佐渡金山は江戸期から昭和期にかけて莫大な金・銀を日本にもたらし、幕府や金（または銀）本位制だった頃の明治政府の財政を支えた。坑道の総延長は 400 km、最深部は海面下 530 m にも達し、鉱脈を追い求めて、ともかく万難を排して堀りに掘ったヤマだった。佐渡の金銀鉱脈は、形成時には実はもっと「上」にも存在したのだが、佐渡島が隆起したことにより浸食され下流に流されてしまった。そのうち金や銀を含む部分は比重が大きいので、遠くまで流されずに相川地区の浜辺にまとまって堆積している。冒頭の写真はそうして形成された鉱石の標本で、地元のことばで「浜石」と呼ばれているもの。川の流れや波浪でもまれているので角のとれた礫（れき）になっている。 黒い縞状の部分は輝銀鉱（正確には針銀鉱）で、その中に自然金がぽつぽつと埋まっている。金の粒はごく小さいものだが、礫がごろごろしているうちに表面の粒は肉眼でも確認できるくらいに押し延ばされている。金の展性は相当なもので、1 グラムの金をたたいて伸ばせば畳 1/3 枚分にもなるそうだ。 This gold-silver ore was one of the Meiji-era mineral specimens that I purchased the other day . It is undoubtedly from Aikawa, Sado Island. The Sado Mine produced tons of gold and silver from the Edo to Showa periods, contributing to Japanese national finance in the past. 1.　天神さま　Tenjin Height: 86 mm / Width: 77 mm ここから紹介する3つの土人形は、秋田市の八橋（やばせ）地区で、おそらく100年以上前につくられたもの。学問の神様とされる菅原道真をかたどった天神人形は八橋人形の定番で、古くは同地区にある菅原神社の参詣客がこぞって買い求めた。地元のことばで「おでんつぁん」と呼ばれ、男の子どもが生まれるとこれを家に飾る風習があった。この人形はほとんど最小サイズとおもわれる豆天神だが、衣装には金彩がほどこされ、立派な台座に乗っていて、それなりに手が込んでいる。やさしいお顔立ちで、かわいい天神さまだ。 All three clay dolls shown here were created in Yabase, Akita City, Japan, more than 100 years ago. Tenjin doll, an icon of Sugawara-no Michizane who has been respected as a god of "study", was Yabase doll's bestseller, formerly sold for visitors to Sugawata Shrine in the Yabase district. People called it "oden-tzan" (a local word), and often displayed it in a house when a boy was born. This Tenjin doll is probably the smaller one in size, but is well decorated in every detail.
