染付 流水草花文 Stream and Flower
17世紀後半 Late 17c

ラフなタッチで、川の流れとかたわらの植物（フタバアオイ？）を描く。何かの花だと思うが、コアラがこっちを向いているようにも見える。染付の描き方で、まず輪郭線を細筆で書いたあとに、太筆でべた塗りすることを「ダミ」というが、そのダミの濃淡のでき映えが、いかにも17世紀古伊万里といった感じがする。わたくしの浅い経験から言うと、この手の古い猪口の見分け方としては、まず器が薄造りで、高台のけずりが上手なこと、白磁が白すぎず、あたたかみのある白であること、などとともに、高台の内側に染付で圏線が一重にひかれていることがわかりやすい。
A stream and some flower plants are drawn in a simple manner. It looks as if koalas are looking at us. The shade of blue colors is characteristic of the 17th-century old Imari. Another characteristic of such old Imari cups is that there is a blue circular line inside the bottom.
