色絵 茄子の絵 Eggplants

染付をつかわず、色絵と金彩だけで、白、黄茶（さび釉）、青、灰色（金か？）の4種類の茄子を計8個描く。いまのナスは細長いのが多いが、こういう丸っこい品種のほうが絵にするにはかわいらしくていい。器は薄く、高台の造りもていねいで、上手の19世紀古伊万里である。
Four kinds of eggplants, white, yellow brown (iron glaze), blue and gray (probably gold glaze), are drawn. Present day eggplant is long in Japan, but such round type is better in drawing a picture. The cup is thin and the foot is made very carefully, indicating this is a high-quality 19th century Imari.
