骨董屋によると、1680年前後頃の、伊万里の猪口としては比較的古い部類のものである、とのこと。たいへんに薄造りで、手にとると、ろくろびきの鋭さが伝わってくるような気がする。

わたくしの数少ない経験から言うと、この時代のこのサイズの猪口は、圧倒的に伝世している数が少ないが、ただその中でも、上に開いた、やや末広がりな形のものが多い気がする。元禄を下って18世紀になってくると、まっすぐ上に向かう筒猪口、いわゆるのぞき猪口が流行する。そして18世紀末になると、また末広がりの形が流行する。

The antique shop's owner said this is a very old Imari cup around 1680. I guess a wheel master created this because of the thin and rigid body. In my experience, there are not a few Imari cups at this age whose shape is divergent toward the top. In the 18th century, vertical (cylindrical) cups, the so-called "Nozoki", become prevalent. And in the end of the 18th century, many divergent cups of this size were produced again.
