ダリネゴルスクの蛍石 Fluorite from Dalnegorsk

先週のホリミネラロジーのセールで入手。ダリネゴルスク（ダルネゴルスク）はこのような無色透明の蛍石がでることで知られている。蛍石はシャープな立方体をなし、指でさわると、ひんやりして、吸いつくような肌触りがする。見る角度によって、一部、虹のようなもようも見える。スカルン型の鉱床をもつダリネゴルスクに特徴的な、針状の石英、それと方解石などの炭酸塩鉱物をともなう。日本海の反対側に位置するこの鉱山には、なんとなく親近感をおぼえる。一度見学に行ってみたいものだ。

I got this specimen at a special sale of Hori Mineralogy, Tokyo. Dalnegorsk is known as a locality of clear colorless cubic fluorite. The surface is smooth, sticking and cold to the touch. Rainbow colors appear in part. There are also needle quartz and some carbonate minerals that are characteristic of Dalnegorsk skarn-type deposits. I feel an affinity with this mining district that is located at the opposite side across the Sea of Japan.
