ハンガリーの石膏 Gypsum from Hungary

中心部がややふくらんだ六角板状の石膏結晶が集合する。いわゆる砂漠のバラと同類のものだと思うが、透明感があって、結晶面もはっきりしている。六個ある側面のうち、とくに相対する二辺の側面だけ、より広い平らな結晶面をみせているのが特徴的である（下の図参照）。
Aggregate of tabular gypsum crystals with a bit rounded hexagonal faces. It is similar to Desert Rose, but has transparency and well-formed crystal surfaces. Two side surfaces are particularly large, as is described in a book (see next figures).
ブラックライトを当てると白っぽく蛍光する。さらに光を閉ざすと、１秒くらい、やや黄色っぽく発光しつづける（これを燐光という、ムービーを参照）。
It shows pale fluorescence under a black light. It also emits yellowish light for a second after shutting out the UV light (phosphorescence).
東京・新宿の紀伊国屋書店の中にある東京サイエンスで、今年のサンマリー・ショーの入荷品がでていたので、おもわず買ってしまった。新宿に行くとあそこに吸い込まれるようになってしまった。。。ネットで検索したところ、カナダのウィニペグ近郊の粘土中に産する石膏標本で似ているものがあった。このハンガリーの産地も同じような産状なのだろうか。
I found this at Tokyo Science in Kinokuni-Ya Building in Shinjuku, displayed as one of specimens from Saint-Marie Mineral Show 2018. Similar gypsum clusters are seen in a clay layer at a suburb of Winnipeg, Canada. This Hungarian gypsum may also be found in a similar deposit.
