阿仁の黄銅鉱 Chalcopyrite from Ani

石英脈の壁面に黄銅鉱が結晶した、うすい板状の標本。複雑な双晶をなしており、結晶面には条線が発達する。阿仁鉱山は、旧阿仁町北部に点在するいくつかの鉱山の総称で、主に銅を産出した。江戸〜明治期に栄え、秋田藩の財政、日本の近代化を支えた。昭和50年頃まで開発されたが、鉱脈は枯渇し、閉山した。
Thin plate-like specimen of chalcopyrite crystals in a quartz vein. They form complicated twins and have clear striation. Ani mine has several deposits distributed around the northern part of the former Ani Town. Mainly having produced copper, Ani mine supported the domain of Akita in Edo period and modernization of Japan in Meiji period. It was developed until 1970s but closed because of depletion.
