古伊万里のカップアンドソーサー Old Imari Cup & Saucer

この手のカップ＆ソーサーは18世紀はじめ頃の古伊万里で、海外向け（とくにヨーロッパ向け）の輸出品としてつくられた。かなり量産されたものらしく、絵付けはあまり丁寧でない。ただし器は薄造りで、職人の手際のよさがうかがえる。見込みには色絵で花の文様がえがかれる。当時まだ高級品だったお茶やコーヒー、ココアなどを、これまた貴重な東洋の色絵磁器で飲むというのがあちらの流行りだったらしい。

This kind of color-glazed Imari wares were made in the early 18th century to meet a demand from Europe. The rough drawing implies they were quite mass-produced, but the thin form must be made by skilled craftsmen. A flower pattern is drawn at the bottom. It is said that upper-class European people had tea, coffee, and chocolate with this kind of Asian cup and saucer.

帆掛舟と海岸の松の風景がラフに描かれた猪口。前のにくらべるとややつくりが雑だが、これも同手のものだろう（骨董屋はこれは国内向けのものだと言っていたが）。見込みはやはり花文で、この手の色絵猪口のお約束である。残念ながら受け皿はともなっていない。

A similar cup as above but a little worth in quality. Ships in the sea and pine trees are drawn with color glazes. There is a flower pattern at the bottom, too. It came without a saucer.
