花蝶図 のぞき猪口 Flower and butterfly

光が透きとおるくらいの薄造りの猪口。いままで手にしたのぞき猪口の中でも一、二を争う薄さだ。絵付けも手なれた感じで、熟練した磁器づくりの技術を示している。上方に向かってやや末広がりの形で、18世紀前半の比較的古い意匠を感じる。この時代によくみかける草花の絵柄だが、なにか和服を着た妖精みたいな物体が草陰に鎮座しているのがおもしろい。なんなんだろう？ 縁の部分に大きな半円形の欠けがあるが、これは釉薬がかかっている「カマキズ」で、骨董業界では傷とみなされない。にしてもかなり目立つものなのでだいぶお値引きされていた。

This is one of the thinnest-body nozoki-choko's in my collection. The drawing is natural and well-made, showing a higher skill of ceramic production. The shape broadening toward the top suggests it was made in the early 18th century. It is interesting that a small object exists between plants that looks like a fairly. There is a relatively large flaw at the top edge, but it is not considered as a defect in the antique market because it is glazed. Nevertheless, it was discounted a little at the shop I bought.
