ペルーの石膏 Gypsum from Salinas de Otuma

ペルーの砂漠地帯の岩塩鉱床中に生じた飴色透明の石膏の結晶群。大きな結晶はすべて双晶。六角板状の結晶が二枚貝のように合わさったもので、(010)の断面をみると燕尾型になっている。前に紹介したハンガリーの標本と類似点が多い。晶癖が似ているのみならず紫外線長波で白っぽく蛍光し、さらに燐光も発する。基盤部分もおおむね石膏の微結晶からなるが、試しになめてみたところ塩辛かったので、細かい岩塩の結晶も伴っているとおもわれる。

Amber-yellow transparent gypsum twins found from a rock-salt deposit in the Peruvian desert region. This specimen is similar to the Hungarian one in crystal habit and also in the fluorescent and phosphorescent properties. My tongue detected salt at the base.
