猪口と鉱物あつめ

Height: 17 cm / Width: 20.5 cm 全体に黒味のつよい飴釉がかかった中型のかめ（甕；一般的には「壺」と呼ぶべきかもしれない）。モノトーンと思いきや、肩の部分に波線がフリーハンドで大様に刻まれている。ちょっとモダンな印象で、センスの良さが感じられる。ぱっと見、九州あたりのやきもの？と感じる部分もあるが、底部の鉄釉（赤釉）のかかり方や高台の一部を丸く切り欠く細工、胴まわりの３本の線刻などに、秋田の白岩焼の特徴がにじみでている。地元の古物商もそう言っていたので、白岩焼でほぼまちがいないかとおもう。 A mid-size jar almost entirely covered with dark brown syrup-like glaze. A vague wavy line engraved on the upper part of the body gives an impression like a modern art. It resembles a Kyusyu (western Japan) earthenware, but iron (red) undergraze around the bottom part, a decoration of cutting off a part of the bottom rim, and three parallel lines around the body are all characteristics of the Shiraiwa ware, which was suggested by an antique dealer in Akita. 一部窯変が出ている。底部の細工や下釉の感じはいかにも白岩焼である。縁に欠けがあったようだが前の所持者がじょうずに補修している。　A different color appeared in a kiln. 碧祥寺博物館の白岩焼　Shiraiwa Earthenware in Hekishoji Museum 岩手県西和賀町に碧祥寺（へきしょうじ）というお寺が運営している博物館があって、古い白岩焼の器がたくさん展示されている、といううわさを聞いたので行ってみた。 I went to the Hekishoji museum, Nishi-Waga, Iwate, Japan, knowing that it had many old earthenwares made in Akita. 碧祥寺の本堂。まだ雪が残り、雪囲いもそのままだった。　The museum is managed by the Hekishoji temple. 博物館は西和賀町の北部、旧沢内村太田地区にある。わたしはJR北上線ほっとゆだ駅前の観光施設で自転車を借りて向かった。 15 km ほどの道のりだが、そんなに起伏のない舗装道路で気持ちのよいサイクリングだった。町が運営しているバス路線も利用できる（Google Map で経路検索できる）。駅前にはタクシーも待機している。また盛岡市内から直通のバスの便もあるようだ（くわしくは西和賀町の 町民バスのページ を参照）。 5月初旬だったにもかかわらず、お寺の前には寄せられた雪が残っていた。このあたりは積雪が優に 2 m を超える日本有数の豪雪地帯であり、実際博物館は1月〜3月の多雪期は休業する（ちなみに毎週火曜も休館日）。展示室は何棟かにわかれているが、そのうちの一つ、雪国生活用具館はその日たまたま電気工事があって見学できなかった。 I hired a bicycle at "Hot" Yuda Station of the JR Kitakami line to go to the Hekishoji museum, located 15 km north of the station.
