阿仁の黄銅鉱 Chalcopyrite from Ani

ほぼ黄銅鉱のみからなる鉱脈中の晶洞の壁面を切り取ったとおもわれる標本。少量の石英をともなう。黄銅鉱の結晶はほとんど埋没しているのでわかりずらいが、おそらく y(313) と X(331) とからなる十二面体の一部が顔を見せているのだろう。和田維四郎「日本鉱物誌・第２版」によると、阿仁の黄銅鉱は「単晶少なく耳付き双晶多し」、「単晶には p のみよりなる四面体式結晶と y X の集像なる偏菱十二面体式結晶とあり」とあるので、ある意味、阿仁の典型的な標本かもしれない（同書に掲載の結晶図は以前の記事を参照）。

A small piece from a druse in an almost pure chalcopyrite vein with a very small amount of quartz. The crystal appears to be a part of a dodecahedron of y(313) and X(331). According to Wada's classical book, Minerals of Japan, 2nd edition, chalcopyrite crystals in Ani are mostly twinned with ears, and the minor single crystals are tetrahedron with p surface or dodecahedron with y and X surfaces. 結晶面が平らでないのでわかりにくいが、面と面の交わる角度は直角よりやや鈍角のようだ。
